Adjust Page Writer Options
Lets you manually override APW behavior. (This should rarely be necessary. Do not change these options unless directed to do so by Technical Support.)
Figure 19–51 shows a sample Adjust Page Writer Options menu.

Choose one of the following options:
Note: Though you can set the value of- APW queue check time — Lets you dynamically adjust the value of the Page Writer Queue Delay (-
pwqdelay) parameter.-pwqdelay, it is a self-tuning parameter. When the database encounters heavy loads,-pwqdelaydecreases its value so that the APW writes more often. When the demand on the database lessens,-pwqdelayincreases its value so that the APW writes less often. The default value, in milliseconds, for-pwqdelayis 100.- APW buffers scan time — Lets you dynamically adjust the value of the Page Writer Scan Delay (-
pwsdelay) parameter. The default value, in seconds, for-pwsdelayis 1.- APW buffers per scan — Lets you dynamically adjust the value of the Page Writer Scan (-
pwscan) parameter.- APW writes per scan — Lets you dynamically adjust the value of the Page Writer Maximum Buffers (-
pwwmax) parameter.
